The college campus is separated into two sections.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;15px&#8221;][vc_column_text]Stann Creek Ecumenical Junior College (EJC) is the first junior college to open in the Stann Creek District. It has been in operation since 1986. EJC has graduated approximately 2100 students and continues to push forward in complete competence, quality, and relevance.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Ecumenical Junior College family holds the view that higher education aids to improve human conditions. Hence, we are working diligently to become the pulse of our community and region.<\/i>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;70px&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;70px&#8221;][vc_column_text]The area of the campus adjacent to the bus stop is open and used for recreational purposes such as football and field day activities. A feeder road (Ecumenical High School on the left and Ecumenical Drive on the right) runs parallel to the George Price Boulevard separating the EJC campus.<\/p>\n<p>Opposite the feeder road, on the other side, are located the administrative building, the middle structure (staff room and classrooms), and the third structure (training labs and classrooms). The snack shop and student lounge are also located on this side of the campus.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;15px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Visitors traveling in motor vehicles are expected to sign a logbook at the security booth before entering the campus. All visitors are required to report at the office before conducting any business on the campus.<\/p>\n<p>Classes start at 8a.m. and run up to 9p.m. in the night. Regular classes usually end at 3:30p.m. Evening classes start at 6p.m. A class period (a credit hour) runs for 50 minutes. Full-time students may take between 15-21 credit hours a semester. Two periods (labeled as college seminar and staff office hour) are set aside each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:40a.m.) for school internal and community participation activities.<\/p>\n<p>The administrative office opens for business second week in August and closes for holiday second week in July every year (<i>view Calendar of Events for specific information<\/i>). New students are expected to attend a two days orientation in August before officially starting classes.<\/p>\n<p>A school year is comprised of two semesters (August-December and January-May) and a summer session (May-June) for some students. A semester is equivalent to 15 weeks of classes and one week of final examination.
