Welcome to EJC

EJC has a very large campus. Many picnic chairs and tables are scattered throughout the campus, mostly under the trees in front of and across the street from the administrative building. Most students spend their time socializing, playing dominoes, chess, and/or ping pong, or doing assignments under the trees.

The Student Union traditionally holds social events on campus, usually on Thursday nights. Students come to enjoy a night of fun. Teachers and students have social events by departments. The tourism students have evening socials and trips, the English groups have poetry nights, the teacher educators have educational symposiums and open days, among others.

The marketing students, from time to time, conduct exercises – selling products they prepare or invent.

Houses

There are four student houses at EJC. Students are expected to compete among themselves, by houses, to see which house will be crowned house of the year. Once enrolled, students are assigned to one of the following houses:

MAHOGANY

TAPIR

ORCHID

TOUCAN

Clubs

Many clubs have been started throughout the history of the college. Students are expected to join at least one club while enrolled at EJC.

The clubs that are available are:

  • Tourism
Sports

Students engage in many activities of interest; these include contact sports (volleyball, basketball, football, and softball), and chess. These sports are played at both the intramural, regional, and national levels.

Students, from time to time, also play dominoes and ping pong.
